My name is Lily Ahonen and I am a self employed Nurse. I am trained in medical aesthetics and I am an internationally certified makeup artist. I have a business called Blond Vagabond Beauty. I love doing makeup to enhance my clients natural beauty. I have been published many times in magazines and have done makeup for Milan Fashion Week. I have experience with weddings, photo shoots, fashion shows and more.
I am also involved with acting and have worked as a Brand Ambassador. I am a published author and a landlord. I am an active volunteer in my community, working with Gems for Gems, Apar Initiative, Engineers without Borders and Love with Humanity Association. I am a Sustainer member of the Junior League of Calgary.
I am proud to hold the current titles of Ms. Calgary 2021 and Ms Western Provinces North America 2021. I am a living organ donor, having donated one of my kidneys in 2019. I love to travel and have been to over 40 countries.

I would love to be the first Miss Entrepreneurship Canada so I can expand my beauty business and collaborate with others. I would love to be a Mentor for other women who wish to start their own businesses.

WHY IS BEING A FEMALE CEO SO IMPORTANT TO YOU?
“I have been self-employed for over a decade. Being my own boss is important to me, as it gives me flexibility to do the things that I love, especially when it comes to travelling. I have always been able to drive and pick up my daughter from school, which is something that was also important to me. I love being able to create my own schedule and my own vision for my business.
I started Blond Vagabond Beauty in 2015. I am a Nurse, and trained in Medical Aesthetics. I am currently offering services as a Makeup Artist with that as my main focus. I have been published as a Makeup Artist in many magazines and have done makeup at a show during Milan Fashion Week. I have Level 1 and 2 Makeup Artist certificates from the Esthetic Institute, as well as a Makeup Artist Diploma from Artists Within. I have also been internationally certified as a Makeup Artist with Distinction by ITEC. I take pride in using exceptional hygiene and sanitary practices, which is especially important during the during COVID-19 pandemic. I love making people feel beautiful. I love how their faces light up when they look in the mirror after their makeup application.
With entrepreneurship, there is no limit to how far you can take your business. I have some exciting plans for the future with taking my business to the next level and can’t wait to begin making them a reality.”
