It’s easy to forget that not so long ago in history women transitioned from minimally or unpaid domestic work to fighting for underpaid industrial work in just the late 1800’s. We fought to be able to work in terrifying conditions for much less pay to simply create space for MORE women in the workforce at all.
Women have earned the right to not only work the jobs they want but to be in leadership roles all over this country and world.
I want to show young girls and women of any age that they have equal opportunities and importance in business and innovation. As your Miss Mission Canada 2022, I plan to continue teaching women how to build their dreams with confidence and become the CEOs of their life by working closely with my community and showcasing the need to uplift females as a whole. I have huge goals of seeing not only the number of Female CEO’s in Canada increase metrically, but to inspire our young women to pursue whatever they are passionate about without fear, knowing they are meant to be in leadership roles. I strongly believe that now is the time for women to be seen as well as heard for their passions.
Women deserve to be the executive decision maker in huge world issues, their businesses and their personal lives no matter where we live. We deserve, despite being marginalized so deeply in our history and in some places still today, the luxury of climbing our way to the top. We are strong and resilient and ready to see the next 20 years show glass breaking progression for women in business just as we’ve seen such huge milestones in our past. Seriously, the percentage of female entrepreneurs has increased by 114% in the last 20 years. I plan to be a key part of this mission not just as a female entrepreneur myself but as a leader in my community and now as your Miss Mission Canada 2022.
Although 82% of women aged 25 to 54 now participate in Canada’s workforce, they are still underrepresented in leadership roles. Women hold only 25% of vice-president positions, and just 15% of CEO positions. How CRAZY is that? I personally want to see that number much higher! Globally, Canadian women rank 1st in terms of being involved in newer businesses and still these numbers are SO low which means numbers in other countries are ALARMINGLY low.
There are countries in the world with numbers like this below 2%! I could not imagine living in a country where there were ZERO women to look up to, see myself in or receive mentorship from. I have been lucky enough to network and learn from so many incredible women and I would not be where I am today without them.
The Female CEO initiative was created to drive my goal to the next level to reach, showcase, and support thousands of female business owners across my beautiful country. I use my knowledge of people’s interactions with social media and my understanding of engagement to drive my message and inspire many to shine. With each story of determination and success we will see more and more women come forward as leaders in their community. Professional working women believe that access to and networking with female leaders will help them advance in their career. Imagine how much you are amplifying the success of women GLOBALLY just by pursuing your own goals and stepping into that power for us all. My passion for people’s success, as well as for traveling, fuel my entrepreneurial goal to grow a stronger, more unified female presence in the business world.
I am passionate about MY MISSION for the future of our women and ultimately the NEED for them to be in leadership roles all over the WORLD.
Miss Mission International is a platform where my advocacy can impact the lives of others on a global scale. With the support and reach of the Miss Mission International organization I can show young women today that the world has so many opportunities just waiting for a strong and determined woman to come along and take charge.
