GIRLS GOT GRIT PODCAST

EDMONTON, ALBERTA

Hello everyone I'm Kerstin! The host of Girls Got Grit! A mental health podcast that looks at the cultural and societal pressures and expectations that impact our mental health. I'm, a child and youth care worker with nearly 10 years of experience working with children, youth, and young adults, in various settings, I'm grateful to have the opportunity to support our most vulnerable in their own mental health journeys. My hope for the podcast is to share valuable information that breaks down the mental health stigma that so many of us face! I also want to create a community around the podcast that supports, uplifts, and encourages one another. In the long run I would also like to set up a non-profit organization that goes towards supporting our listeners in accessing the services they need to be supported through their struggles with mental health.

The podcast is launching October 4th, and I'm beyond excited to share with you and have you become a member of the grit gang!

PRESENT YOUR WHY

WHY IS BEING A FEMALE CEO SO IMPORTANT TO YOU?

“Being a female entrepreneur is important to me because I have always had a passion for leadership. I know what it feels like to be treated poorly by bosses, colleagues, and, customers and long ago I decided that I wanted to be my own boss, so that I didn't have to deal with other people and their poor leadership skills.

I also believe that more women need and deserve the opportunity to thrive in business. This has been a male dominated space for too long and it is imperative that women are being seen and heard for the power business force that we are.

I also want to create something that is truly mine. As women we are expected to give and give and give, and creating my podcast and business is my way of creating something just for me. If everyone else loves it then all the better!”

I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard.
